Jessie Allen is The Flash of Earth–Α2ΔΣ–′78 and The Action & Adventure Comics universe’s avatar of speed.
The Action & Adventure Comics project aims not to radically reinvent, dissect, or lambast the world’s greatest superheroes, but to celebrate them. Distilled from the best versions of themselves across 75+ year histories and removed from “comic book time” and “negative continuity”, characters age, learn, and evolve in a cohesive series of narratives. In an imprint named for classic Superman titles, heroes act like heroes and get to save the day.
The Azure E.S.P.′er –
"This is part of the first group of teasers for the superheroes of Earth–Α2ΔΣ–′78: The Action and Adventure Comics project. The Flash is actually one of the last characters Lomeli and I finalized. Because, I just wasn’t satisfied with what I’d written down for The Flash on my own. He threw in his own ideas and I’m really proud of what he came with. But, he’s a talented guy. So, it’s not really a surprise.
I’m sure some of you are surprised with The Flash, but… The League was kind of a sausage fest. I wanted more than just one in “The Big Seven” to be female. So, I threw some Jessie Quick into the mix. Normally, I know, she’s a contemporary of Wally West, rather than Barry Allen - but, hear me out. She’s a Legacy character from the pre-Crisis Earth-2. Just like the main heroes of pre-Crisis Earth-1. Jessie Quick is just as much as successor to Jay Garrick as Barry Allen was. She was older than Wally West, but not as old as Barry Allen. When the universes merged, she was just rounded down a bit to be equal to contemporary Flash. So, I’m just doing things a little bit different.”

"Azure didn't know what he wanted to do with the Flash as far as design goes, but we went back and forth and eventually came up with this. That's the benefit of collaboration. I really love this design. It's sleek, it's stylish, but it's still functional. I see a lot of Flash designs that weigh him down with too much armor. He's the Flash! Why weigh him down? Making The Flash a woman was a great idea, in my humble opinion. Azure says the League was a sausage fest, and I can't disagree. Had a lot of fun making her, and I love the end result. We've still got a few more League members to go!"
